Um aviso a David Irving
Eu não sei quando será lançado o livro de David Irving sobre Heinrich Himmler, anunciado há muito tempo, mas eu temo já saber a tese central deste livro: sim, o Holocausto aconteceu, milhões de judeus foram de fato assassinados, porém, somente uma pequena parcela foi gaseada em Auschwitz. 2,4 milhões de judeus foram mortos de forma desconhecida em Belzec, Sobibor e Treblinka; entre um e dois milhões foram fuzilados na Rússia ou assassinados em carros de gás. Por este crime, Adolf Hitler não tem qualquer responsabilidade. Tudo isso foi ordenado e organizado pelo Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler, que de alguma forma conseguiu levar a cabo tal gigantesco massacre sem o conhecimento de seu Führer.
Como Heinrich Himmler é pouco admirado, mesmo entre reconhecidos nacional-socialistas, Irving parece tê-lo escolhido como perfeito bode-espiatório. Eu aviso Irving que tais afirmações somente terão o efeito de arruinar o que ainda resta de sua credibilidade. Todavia, muito pior é que elas significarão uma vergonhosa difamação. Heinrich Himmler pode ter bastante culpa em sua consciência, mas ninguém, nem mesmo David Irving tem o direito de lhe acusar do planejamento e execução de tal monstruoso abate que foi certamente impossível dele ter planejado e executado, pois ele simplesmente não aconteceu.
Um conselho para David Irving
Como outros brilhantes homens antes dele, David Irving levou um tremendo tombo, porém, quem caiu pode se levantar. Eu aconselho David Irving a se lembrar de uma antiga sabedoria popular: fatos são tiranos, eles não perdoam qualquer contradição. Tomara que David Irving consiga ter a coragem de considerar os fatos, e com isso chegue às inevitáveis conclusões. Não há simplesmente para ele qualquer outro caminho para salvar sua honra e reconquistar sua credibilidade.
